The history of the Moscow Military Music College dates back to 1937. In 1940 the college drummer unit was given the honor to open all military parades on Red Square, with the tradition’s remaining up today.
Over its 85 years of history the college has brought up several generations of bright and well-known conductors, musicians and instructors as well as honored workers and peoples artists of Russia.

The band’s repertoire is very versatile featuring music pieces from different epochs, styles and genres, from Western European and Russian classic to jazz, contemporary and popular compositions.

The band’s musicians took in a big number of festivals including Nashestvie Rock Festival, Festos Moscow Festival and Contest, Russia’s Band and Choir Assemblies, 'Vivat, Student' All-Russian Students Band Festival and Contest, 'Gold Waldhorn' Children Wind Bands Festival, Jazz Triumph, Jazz Army, Gnesin Jazz and many other music and art events.

Nowadays the Suvorov cadet musicians show their great music talent and skills not only in Russia but all around Europe, including Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Poland and Czech Republic. They take part in various important international military music festivals, featuring Tattoo on Stage (Luzern, Switzerland), Sevastopol Military Tattoo, 'Ode to Peace' Festival, Army of Russia Festival, Amur Waves International Military Music Festival (Khabarovsk), Fanfares in the Center of Asia Festival (Kyzil), Fanfares of the Tula Kremlin All-Russia Wind Bands Festival (Tula), Spassakaya Tower on Sakhalin International Military Music Festival and Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival (Moscow).
